Kickstarter 3, the Kickstartening!

You’ve probably heard us talking about this non-stop since the campaign launched, and I’m not going to stop now.  So on the off-chance you missed the announcements here and on social media:

THE KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN TO FUND THE PRINTING OF “THE MYSTERY OF THE ZEL GUX DYNASTY” INTO BOOK FORM IS LIVE!

Kickstarters are exciting and nerve-wrecking times for me, even with two successful campaigns already under our belt.  It’s exciting because we get to offer some cool rewards and incentives, which help us print the best book possible.  For example, my brother generously supported our previous Kickstarter, and as a reward his likeness (and actual size) was used for PSI COP.  We get to feel your excitement for the upcoming book and all its extra goodies, like concept sketches and additional lore not found online.

It’s nerve-wrecking because I’m the kind of person who’s always aware of the possibility of a good thing coming to an end.  I have that lurking paranoia about everything in my life; my livelihood as a webcomicker, my marriage, various friendships, pastimes I enjoy; and in some cases they have come to an abrupt end!  A year ago a group of friends suddenly and painfully cut all ties with me, and just last week Vine (the app with which I have been making videos with my son) suddenly announced it was being discontinued!  So in the back of my mind, no matter how good a campaign is going or how much momentum it has, I’m worrying that this is the year we have an unsuccessful Kickstarter and our book doesn’t get funded.

But considering that, at the time of this writing, we’re over 50% funded in just under two days, I feel like I don’t have much to worry about after all.  You’re all the greatest, most wonderful readers in the galaxy and we cannot thank you enough for your continued support.  We are truly blessed to have you with us for this crazy journey.
