As sickly sweet as Halloween candy.

I could talk about stars, planets, music, or comics today, but I’m not going to.

I’m going to wish my wife a happy anniversary.

We were married two years ago today in a Halloween-style wedding.  We wanted to have it on Halloween day, but that would have made for a ceremony smack in the middle of the week.  The spirit of the holiday was still there, however.  Everyone was required to come in costume.  We had a candy bar.  We had spooky cupcakes dressed as spiders and ghosts for our “wedding cake.”  My wife’s bouquet was made entirely out of lollipops.  She was a fairy princess.  I was a monster in a stitched-together suit.

Weird weather has plagued our wedding day, too.  The year we were married, a snowstorm hit New England and knocked out the power at the hotel where our guests were staying.  Last year, on this day, Superstorm Sandy arrived.  This year… well, there are clear blue skies and delightful autumn winds.  For now.

Happy anniversary to the love of my life and my best friend.  I have no idea what I’d do without you.
