Back behind the camera.

My parents came to visit us this weekend, and we always have a good time.  Our son manages to charm his grandparents every single time he sees them, and this past weekend was no different.  What set this visit apart was my father and I getting behind our cameras again and taking photos again.  The subject, naturally, was the little guy himself, who proved to be an excellent (and downright adorable) subject.  We must have looked like paparazzi in my backyard, hovering over a baby with our cameras snapping away.

It felt really good to dust off my old camera and get it shooting again.  It hasn’t seen much use in the past year, and getting back behind its lens was strangely comforting.  Creating images, capturing moments, telling a story in a single image; these are all aspects of photography that I adore and while I’m only an amateur at best, it’s an art form I enjoy.

Anyway, here’s a picture of my boy I managed to capture over the weekend.  I think it came out well.
