Meet Rebecca!

A few weeks ago we began looking for a temporary colorist to help us with the next two chapters of STAR POWER & THE CHOIR OF DOCTOR HYMN.  We received a lot of applications.  We received a lot more than we expected!  We were floored by the interest shown in wanting to work with us, not to mention the sheer talent of everyone who submitted a portfolio for us to review.  It was an extremely difficult decision, but as you can see from yesterday’s update, we picked a colorist to help us with Issues 23 and 24.

Meet Rebecca McConnell!  We’re very happy with the pages she’s given us already (which you can see before they’re posted online if you pledge $5+/month to our Patreon) and we can’t wait to see how she’s going to handle future updates.  She’s staying true to our color schemes and the overall atmosphere of Garth’s established work, but she’s also putting her own subtle spin on our pages.  We’re very excited to be working with her, and we hope you enjoy her contributions over the course of the next two Issues.

This is also a learning experience for us, as is everything with STAR POWER.  Before Garth and I teamed up, we were solo creators and had complete control over our work.  Entering into our collaboration meant that we had to relinquish levels of control we had never sacrificed before.  We were scared, but the experience made us stronger creators and more flexible artists.  And now, with giving our pages to another person to color, we’re relinquishing yet another level of control we’re not accustomed to giving up.  We were nervous, but our nerves have given way to excitement.  This should be fun.

Welcome aboard, Rebecca!  We hope you enjoy your stay with us here among the stars.
