Our Summer of Silence.

As you may have noticed, we were uncharacteristically quiet this summer. Well, that’s only partially true. During July, when our Kickstarter for STAR POWER & THE CHOIR OF DOCTOR HYMN was running, we were loud and obnoxious and made no apologies for constantly promoting and pushing the campaign because that’s what you have to do. But once that was over, we were almost entirely silent during August.

There’s no profound reason or major announcement to make regarding our “summer of silence.” Garth and I went on impromptu summer breaks, as well as almost back-to-back conventions (for me, at least), and our “Issue 27 coming soon” post may not have been enough. We’re usually good at communicating with you fine folks, but this summer we caught a case of being mildly lazy.

We went camping with some very close friends, then Garth went on his own vacation while I exhibited at FanExpo Boston. We then rejoined forces over Labor Day weekend to exhibit at the massive and always-unforgettable DragonCon. Issue 27 began updating last week but I neglected to do any blog posts because DragonCon left me more fatigued than I was anticipating.

But now, a week after DragonCon and two weeks into September, we are back at full speed and communications are re-established. Thank you folks for your patience.

I, for one, am looking forward to getting back to doing regular blog posts. Whether they’re (hopefully) profound reflections on the nature of comics or fatherhood, or if they’re just my ramblings about things that excite me, it will be nice to share aspects of myself with you folks again.

This was a fun summer, but it’s nice to be back.
