That weird week.

It’s the final week of 2016 and I, like so many others, will be happy to see this steady-stream-of-bad-news year come to an end.  This is that weird week in between Christmas and New Year’s, where some people have an extended break from school or work but others don’t; where you don’t know how much work you actually need to get done because the “holidays” aren’t technically over yet; where you’re not sure if you should be getting back into a working groove or settling back for a few low-key days with a big party looming on the horizon.  This is that weird in-between week and I normally know what to do with it.  This year, like seemingly everything else in 2016, is different.

In the past, Garth and I have allowed ourselves a small winter break in this in-between week.  A break in updating so we could, like so many others, enjoy some time off.  This current Issue just happened to be coming to its conclusion here in this in-between week, so taking a week-long break with only three pages left to update felt wrong.  We decided to let Issue 16 run its course and it will end this Friday, thus closing out the year with the first chapter of our latest storyline.  Not a bad way to end this infamous year, I think.  We have yet to decide if we will allow ourselves a small winter break anyway, which would likely take the form of a week’s break before we begin to update the usual two-week lore filler between Issues.

Whatever we do and however we decide to do it, we want to thank everyone who has shown us such amazing support this past year, and all previous years.  2016 may have been a year full of bad news, negativity, and bleak outlooks, but it was a fine time for STAR POWER and we have you to thank for being our bright light in an otherwise starless sky.
