The holidays and their days.

Next week we’ll be taking our annual holiday break.  Monday is Christmas Day, so we weren’t planning on updating that day regardless of whether we would be taking the rest of the week to ourselves.  We had thought about updating on Wednesday and Friday as well, but ultimately came to the decision to take the same week-long break we’ve been taking for the past four years or so.  We’ll be back on the first day of the new year, so we won’t be gone long.

We considered updating through the week because we felt like we’ve been taking a lot of “breaks” lately, though the interruptions in our updates have all been comic-related.  Promoting a Kickstarter campaign is serious business, and we took extra time between storylines to push the campaign (and to give poor Garth a break after drawing all the armies battling in The Lonely War’s finale).  We interrupted a Monday update to promote the final day of that same Kickstarter campaign.  So while these were all necessary breaks, there’s an old-fashioned part of me that always feels like I need to make up for time lost.  In the end, the holidays won out.

It’s a time to be with family and loved ones.  It’s a time to recharge and recuperate from a long year (and 2017 felt like an impossible slog at times).  It’s time to reflect on the year past and get yourself ready for the next one.  Most importantly, it’s time to play with all the new toys you got on Christmas day, or at least to cash in those gift cards.

But if you really need to see some new pages next week, our Patreon patrons who pledge $5+/month will have access to the finished pages that will resume updating in 2018.  Higher level Patrons will get access to the script for Issue 22 when its first part is posted before the year’s end, as well as some upcoming lore goodies.

We hope you folks have a great holiday, whether you celebrate Christmas or not.  We’re wishing everyone much holiday merriment and a great new year.  After the insanity, disappointments, and stress of 2017 I think we all deserve some holiday revelry.
