Garth and I are splitting up.
That’s right folks. You heard it here first. Garth and I are splitting up…
…this weekend so he can exhibit at AwesomeCon while I represent us at Anime Boston.
Hyuck hyuck.
I’m happy to be returning to Anime Boston this year. It was the first convention I ever exhibited at, and to return to it when I have the opportunity always feels like a homecoming. The show is bigger, the venue is different, and the crowds are never the same from one year to another, but there’s a part of me that always feels like I’m back at that first cheap Artist Alley table I managed to snag in a hotel conference room. While so many things have changed, part of it remains familiar in my heart.
But it won’t be the same without Garth. He’ll be representing us at the equally incredible AwesomeCon this weekend, and I’m going to miss him. Sure, I did ConBust last weekend without him, but I’ve always attended ConBust as a solo creator. The last few years we’ve done AwesomeCon and Anime Boston as a team, and it’s not only comforting to have my partner with me, but I enjoy my opportunities to catch up with Garth in person. I have no doubt he’s going to have a great time at AwesomeCon with or without me, but part of me hopes he’s going to miss me, too.
It’s fortunate that STAR POWER can be in two places at once this weekend. Our partnership and our enthusiasm for conventions allows us to take advantage of opportunities like this. If you’re in the area, whichever it may be, we hope you stop by and say “hi” to us!
