The turning point of the dynasty.

“The Mystery of the Zel Gux Dynasty” was an important story for us to tell.  It represented a major turning point in the overall story of STAR POWER, and we consider its conclusion a milestone in the long journey we have planned.  In fact, if Garth and I were to stop doing this comic tomorrow, I feel like we’d have a pretty satisfying trilogy on our hands.  (Note: I do not want to stop doing this comic any time soon.)

We hit the ground running with THE NINTH WORMHOLE.  It introduced our cast of characters, established the setting, and showcased the abilities granted by The Star Power.  We slowed things down for THE SEARCH FOR BLACK HOLE BILL, where we began the process of tying up some loose ends from the first story and expanding on other ideas we had introduced.  We also spent more time with the characters, learning who they were now that things weren’t moving so fast for them.  With THE MYSTERY OF THE ZEL GUX DYNASTY, we have effectively closed the book on all the running themes through these three stories, and are ready to move on to new things.

Here are some of the new themes and storylines I’m looking forward to exploring:

The fate of the war-torn galaxy.  Things are great within the borders of the Millennium Federation, but there’s a whole galaxy out there that was ravaged by the Eighth Wormhole Invasion.

Danica Maris and “Mitch.”  These two have a literally inseparable bond, and they will discover much about each other as Danica grows as a Sentinel, and “Mitch” uncovers the secrets of his new upgrade.  (Spoiler: This is not going to be a romantic relationship.)

The Galactic Defense team.  Kaylo Durin, Grex Obil, and Shi Lalis are Danica’s best friends.  We got to explore their relationship in THE SEARCH FOR BLACK HOLE BILL, but we have so much more planned for this crew.

The Void Angels.  The mercenary band is destroyed save for three outcast pilots, and one of them had a change of heart.  There’s either a redemption story here, an even greater fall, or both.

The Millennium Federation!  We’ve not seen much of this civilization beyond the confines of Space Station Sanctuary Six.  Expect to see much more.

This is an exciting time for us, and we’re eager to explore these brand new chapters in the continuing story of STAR POWER.  There are countless new worlds to visit, cultures to discover, and days that need saving!  We have so many stories yet to tell, and we hope you join us on this interstellar journey.
