Happy Halloween!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
This is my favorite holiday. It’s a celebration of my favorite things: sweets, costumes, and spooky monsters.
When I was a boy, trick-or-treating was the highlight of my year. Going up to decorated houses and getting candy from costumed adults was a fall tradition. These days my wife and I live in a neighborhood with lots of children. Last year there were roaming packs of them, all costumed-up and looking for free treats. Tonight, once again, we get to be the costumed “adults” (I use the term loosely for us), handing out candy from our decorated porch. It’s like a Spooky Circle of Life.
Tomorrow, and all through the weekend, Garth and I will be at YOUMACON! Garth has already apologized for the amount of RoboCop references he’s going to make. As for me, this will be my third year returning as a Guest. Youmacon has always been very nice to me, and the people I meet there are stellar. If you’ve never been to this show, make a point to stop by and say “hi” this weekend! If you’re returning, I hope you come by and see me again.
